About the Programme

Bridging the Cancer Genetic Counselling Gap in Africa

CGCP‑ON Africa is CanCAF's flagship training initiative, powered by the prestigious 2025 Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award received by Mrs. Naomi Oyoe Ohene Oti.

Through this collaboration, CanCAF leads the programme's vision while WAGMC delivers the training, transforming Mrs. Ohene Oti's award-winning achievement into a continent‑wide movement advancing cancer genetic counselling for oncology nurses .

Eligibility Requirements

Who Should Apply?

We are seeking dedicated oncology nurses from who are committed to expanding genetic counselling services in their communities.

  • Registered Nurse with valid license in your country
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Nursing or Midwifery
  • At least 2 years of clinical experience in Oncology/Cancer Care
  • Practicing in oncology or cancer-related services within Africa
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)

Post-Training Commitment

Upon completing the CGCP-ON Africa programme, graduates will be expected to dedicate a minimum of 10 hours per month to providing cancer genetic counselling services within their institutions or communities.
